Description of the Project

This project involves the construction of the first two lanes of the ultimate 4-lane Métis Trail arterial roadway from Garry Drive to Jerry Potts Blvd as well as improvements to adjacent intersections. The contract was awarded to McNally Contractors by City of Lethbridge Council on August 5th, 2014 for $10.3 Million.

Background

The 2012 Squamish Boulevard West Traffic Concerns study involved a public consultation process that resulted in recommendations to construct Jerry Potts Boulevard from Red Crow Boulevard to Métis Trail, construct Métis Trail from Garry Drive to Jerry Potts Boulevard and consider traffic calming measures on Red Crow Boulevard. The recommendation was presented and approved by Council on January 24th, 2013.
